Recovery Part 2

Emerson is so much better at this point.  Our days are very good.  She plays, moves around and eats.  Our nights are a different story.  We are linking the Vicadin to severe night terrors and nightmares that result in crying, moaning and alot of talking out of her head.  She is asleep for most of it until it gets so bad she wakes herself up.  It is much easier if one of us is in the bed with her.  Not much sound sleep going on in this house these last few days. This is one reason we did not send her to school today.  A good nights sleep tonight and I think she will go back tomorrow.  I am trying to experiment with the pain medicine and have been trying to supplement with regular strength Tylenol.  I think she is mananging pretty good.

This picture is from Day 2 and this is exactly how she looked...out of it!  Dottie the class mascot has been with us the entire week too, so she has been carrying him around.

Day 5 Saturday- looking better.  She asked to put clothes on and to brush her hair.  We did some Shrinky Dinks.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, however I think this whole week may have a huge affect on Emerson's eating habits.  I have heard friends comment on what good eaters their kids were until something like a sickness or surgery.  We may have that issue.  She is asking to have raw carrots and an apple, so this is a good sign.  She insisted on having an orange yesterday.  The more I told her what a bad idea it was the more she wanted it.  She had to figure this one out on her own, so I let her have one.  She popped one slice in her mouth and was all, "See Mom.  I told you it would be fine", until it hit her a few seconds later.  She said it felt like fire and drank 2 glasses of water to make the fire stop.
