Jambalaya Park

We spent several hours at the spray ground in Jambalaya Park Friday. It was crazy crowded with Mom's trying to keep their kids entertained. This is Emerson's first trip to the spray park this year, so she was very excited. She had so much fun running and playing. This is such a nice spray park. Several of our friends joined us for a few hours and we all had a picnic. The kids seem to eat a lot for some reason. I am not sure if they are all going thru growth spurts or if our theory that water makes you hungry holds true for spray grounds as well. It was a good time and Emerson took a 3 hour nap, so maybe I need to take her there everyday!

Jefferson Baptist Summer Mother's Day Out Program starts Tuesday- YEH!! She has been asking about school. Apparently I am just not enough entertainment for her. She will have her same teachers and classmates during the summer, so that is a good thing. We are off to the beach in a week, so we are getting geared up for that around here. Everyday she thinks TODAY is the day we leave for the beach and has a crying meltdown when we tell her it is not. Why did we mention the trip to her again? When we get back from the beach Swim Lessons start and that should be interesting. Have a great weekend everyone!

Dixie pics

We spent a few hours at Dixie letting her ride this weekend. Of course we have to end the night with an ice cream cone.

She enjoyed watching the big rides. We have never just let her walk around and check out the other stuff she can't do yet. She want to ride EVERYTHING.

Here are some pictures from the week. Friday Onnie and I took the kids to City Park to play and picnic. I have a few more I will post of them later.

BFF

These two little girls love each other so much! Isabelle and her parents came over for dinner this week. Unfortunately, Isabelle will not be going to Jefferson Baptist in the fall, so we will have to try and get them together on a weekly basis.

New camera and new hard drive

So when it rains it pours around here! So, I get a new camera and the computer all but blows up. New camera and a new hard drive and we are set. For now at least.
These are some of the first pictures I took with the new camera.
Emerson loves her some Ruby.
I have lots of pictures to post to get caught up on. Give me a few days.

Still no camera

I am shopping for a new camera and hope to have made a purchase by the end of next week. I am resorting to taking pictures with my phone which do not always produce the best quality pics, but it is better than nothing...right?

We went to River Ranch in Lafayette Saturday for their Art in the Park festivities. We dodged the rain most of the time we were there, but we did manage to get Em's face painted. The women painting the kids faces was Amazing. She was one of the best I have seen. Every kid I saw with something on their face was just awesome. Check out Emerson's flower.

YES, she is mad. It was too wet and rainy to play in the "jump-jumps" they have for the kids. The kids that are in them are completely soaked. We got her a bag of popcorn, 3 packs of Smarties and a sucker to tide her over.

Since I don't have a camera right now, I will have to post snippets of our conversations.

Emerson: Momma. Wast fwiday when yew wuz not hew I poured water on Buddy.

Me: If I wasn't here where was I?

Emerson: I don't know.

Me: Who was here with you?

Emerson: Daddy

Me: You poured water on Baker Dog?

Emerson: Yep, I sure did.

Me: Why?

Emerson: Wellllll, I poured water on Buddy to make he grow big Momma.

How stupid of me to not have known that!

Mother's Day

It was a fun day. We started off by going to the Waterpark and bringing my Mom lunch since the park is open and she is working. We let Emerson play in the little kids part for awhile before and after lunch. This is her first time this year and she is fearless. She is a much better height now and I am not as freaked when she comes down the little slides in the kids area. She had a blast and these are all the pictures I got the entire day BECAUSE the camera strap broke and fell from around my neck onto the lens in the water. I got these pics off the memory card. AS far as my camera- it still will not work and I am afraid what little chlorine and water that got in it id just enough to ruin it. SO, these are the last pics I will post until I can get mine fixed or get a new one.

We left the waterpark and went to see Denny's Mom for awhile. From there we came home and Em took a nap in time for Ann and Mallory to bring BBQ over for dinner. It was a wonderful day and I am so lucky to have such wonderful women in my life! I hope all of you had a great day as well.
Happy Mother's Day!

Disney On Ice

We, along with our friends The McDermott's, took the girls to Disney On Ice Friday night. It was a really good show and the girls had a great time. They would have a great time anywhere as long as they are together. They are best friends!

The show included Peter Pan, The Little Mermaid, Lilo and Stitch and The Lion King along with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Daisy. Emerson is now very obsessed with Ursula from the Little Mermaid- she is NOT a fan!
