April Showers Bring May Flowers

Trina gave Emerson one of Gabby's old dance costumes. It is too big for her, but we rigged it so she could see herself dressed as a flower. She was very impressed with herself and starred into the mirror for awhile. We had a fun, but long weekend. We had the St. John Church Fair Friday evening with friends, The Shaw Picnic Saturday and then dinner Saturday night with the gang. Sunday was mass at 10am, Gabby's First Communion and lunch after. After lunch we took her to the Ag Center to see the farm animals then stopped by ReRe's house for a quick visit. Needless to say, I am trying to get her back on track as far as sleep goes today. Emerson has always been one of those kids who needs a nap. She needs one not only to make it thru the day, but in order to sleep well that night. Hopefully we can all get back to sleeping thru the night again.

My new favorites

OMG! I just love these! I took these of her yesterday. She and I spent the day playing and doing whatever she wanted. She is feeling better and her mood seems to be improving some. Mom took her to I.Catchers on Wednesday and we cut about an inch off her hair. Denny and I have always been fond of shorter hair on little girls, but we are also trying to keep it healthy. Emerson loves to go see Chip and she acts like she has been going there her whole life. She sits in his chair and does exactly what he tells her too. He blew her hair out straight and it was precious. BUT once the humidity hits her head it is wild and crazy like her daddy.
I really just love these pictures. I want her to face and her cheeks and her eyes and her lips to always have this child like innocence. She may never look like this again and I just can not stop looking at these pictures. Do you think poster size of these pictures will be too much???

Growing up too fast

Emerson has always loved to run around naked after her bath. Lately she wants to prance around in her towel. I can not believe she is growing up so fast! She has really been testing her boundaries lately. 3 years old- here we come HEAD FIRST!

Yard Art

Check out our artwork. It was very exciting and she is very much into chalk these days. I draw the shapes and she colors it all in- with some assistance of course. Check out the blue chalk on her face... She looks so serious.

Princess Sister Cousins

We kept Evie Friday night and the two of them have so much fun together. Emerson has a Urinary Tract Infection that was at it's worst Friday evening and it really helped to have Evie here to distract her. They have always called eachother Princess Sisters, but Evie decided they are now Princess Sister Cousins. How Sweet. I love these two pictures. They are hip, bunny chicks. I love how Evie's bunny ears are all perkey and standing straight up and Em's are just sad and droopy. Oh well, it totally sums up how she was feeling at the time. The sad bunny...
We spent most of Friday night and Saturday morning up with Emerson. Between the bad weather and the UTI, she just could not get comfortable to go to sleep. She is all of the sudden scared and very aware of thunder and lightening. It does not affect her much during the day, but at night she is terrified.
We took her to the doctor Saturday morning and they gave her meds and she is doing better.
I know how bad that feels as an adult, so I know it must be very difficult to deal with as a child!
She was great thru church and Collin's 1st Communion Saturday night and she has been so excited about Paisley's baby shower she went with me today.
Lesson Learned- Little girls DO NOT need to take bubble baths every night. This will take a bit of retraining, but she will get used to it. Sorry Aunt Mel- LAY OFF THE BUBBLES.

"Hockapus"

As with most things these days dealing with an almost 3 year old is a challenge. She is really giving us a run right now and I am trying to come up with ways to keep her interested in food and eating as well as she always has in the past. Mrs. Pat- Kim's Mom reminded me of this was she used to cut Jack's hot dogs when he was little and I tried it for Emerson one day for lunch. Emerson thought it was great. I added the peas as the fish the "Hockapus" would eat.
Thanks Nana for reminding me of this idea!

Big Brother- October 2009

Easter Sunday I get this text from Kim. It is this picture of Jack. Once I realized what his shirt said I could not believe it. Jack will be 11 years old in May and Kim and Renee have been trying to get pregnant for about 7 years now. God does have a plan and I am still crying with joy. Jack will be the best big brother EVER! We love you guys and can not wait.

Lazarus Art Studio

I have come up with some ideas to keep her busy this week off of school. One was to do some paint projects. We had lots of fun and she does great work outside under the carport. She did it all by herself- all I did was paint her name on each piece which she proceeded to paint over on each one. We will be framing at least one piece of art she did today and hanging it in her playroom. The rest we will be selling on Ebay to the highest bidder- kidding of course.

Happy Easter 2009

She got into the Bunny this year! Of course she is really into candy as well. We have been to 3 Easter Egg Hunt parties in the last 2 weeks and she expects some type of candy in every Easter egg she touches. Luckily the bunny did not leave much candy for her.

The Bunny 2009

Denny met us at the Mall this evening to go ahead and take the Bunny photo. She loved him and kept wanting to go back and talk to him.We rode the carousel, played in the play area, walked around and then walked to dinner.

They handed out these bunny ears when you took a picture this year. She wore them all over the mall- as she is very fond of accessories.
