Thelma and Louise- on wheels

I kept thinking about these together when Emerson can drive- Lord help us! This day they had the music turned up and had a blast driving the Jeep. Lola cracks me up in the flower headband. She wore it for hours. They moved last week and we are sad they are not down the street anymore. I think Emerson understands that is not Lola's house anymore when we pass.

Pizza night

I KNOW, I KNOW, No posts in awhile. We have all been sick and have been laying low and getting better. Emerson just can't shake the ear infection. Hoping this week we will see marked improvement with a new antibiotic.

We had pizza night a few Fridays ago and this time we made out own dough. She had fun kneading it and really likes to help when she can.
She are at a crossroad with Emerson right now. At3 years old she does still need a nap in order to get thru the day, however nap time and going to bed at night is not fun now. She fights the nap during the day, but once she does settle down she can take almost 2 hours of a nap. So, when bedtime rolls around she is not tired and all but refuses to stay in her bed. We have taken her TV shows away from her, taken the princess dresses away- which you would think would devastate her, books, spankings- you name it we have tried it. We have even resorted to stying up until 10:00- 10:30 and then putting her to bed thinking the later she went down the easier it would be to get her down. Nope. That did notwork either. We end up mad and resentful of her because we are tired and want to go to bed. All the up and down is not fun at all! We spent the weekend experimenting with no naps. She is awful in the evenings. However, she does go down better at night. Everything I have read and from what everyone says her body will get used to it, but you have to deal with her until she adjusts. Wish us luck that we all survive.

The princess and the tent

Emerson got this tent for her B-day- I think I have blogged about it before. She will only get in the tent if she is wearing a princess dress and insists on reading books in there. Of course I encourage as much time in the tent as possible!
Thank you again Nunella!

Monsters

Denny: Emerson it is late and we are ready to go to sleep. Stay in your bed.

Emerson: Daddy Daddy Daddy Daddy. Let me tell you something. It is so funny Daddy. The other night at Isabelle's house me and her were playing monsters. Isabelle said there was a monster on her house and I said that we needed to run cuz there was one in her room. Then Uncle Alex (Isabelle's dad with whom Emerson insists on calling Uncle) told me that the only monster there was was the one in the White House. Isn't that so funny daddy. A monster in the White House.

True Story! I guess it is never to early to start the lessons of life- Monsters and the White House!

Big hair

She is so proud of this hair she can not even stand it. She did it herself. She especially loves the headband! Could she look anymore 12 years old!!!!

A few more

These are the last few random Seattle pictures. On Sunday afternoon we went into Bellevue and went to the big mall there where they have a big kids play zone. Exhausted as the days are starting to catch up with her. This was the day after the wedding, so she was really tired.
This was 2 hours before the wedding- and we had to wake her up to get her dressed.
She did great.
There is a cool outdoor park in Kirkland that over looks Lake Washington. She was in a singing mood.
And a dancing mood here...

The Crozier's

We stayed with Tom, Charmaine and Harrison Crozier at their beautiful home in Kirkland, WA. Harrison is 1 and is the cutest thing I have seen! They opened their lives and their home to us for 5 days and we had a great time with them. Thanks again Tom and Charmaine!
Harrison's first bath with a girl. He was pretty proud of himself after!

Carnival radar

Leave it to this little "carnie" to find a Family Fun Center, State Fair or park within a 30 mile radius of any state we are in. Under the Space Noodle there is a FFC with rides and games. Of course we let her ride.

Space Noodle

Emerson calls the Space Needle the Space Noodle. Funny girl! The grounds under the Space Noodle are fabulous. The gardens around it are so lovely with lots of flowers.

As with most cities, the downtown area is littered with lots of homeless people, but they were doing a good job of getting them up and moving them along when we were there. Emerson was not real interested once we reached the top of the Noodle. She could have cared less really and was ready to go the minute we stepped off the elevator.

Pike's Market and Downtown area

Here are a few random pictures from around the Pike's Place Maket area. This is Emerson posing for the camera- she came up this pose all on her own!
Here is Emerson at the first Starbucks located in Downtown Seattle near Pike's Place.

The market was awesome. It is a true cooks dream down there. It is a shame New Orlean's French Quarter Market can't be more like this one. Fresh flowers, seafood, fruits, breads, vegetable and lots more stuff.

Seattle Aquarium

We landed in Seattle, picked up the rental car and headed downtown to the Wharf area, Pike's Place Market and the Aquarium. The Aquarium was awesome and we all three enjoyed it a lot. It was a long flight from New Orleans, so it allowed Emerson to run around and stretch her legs some.

Seattle

We are back from Seattle. Emerson is having a hard time now that we are home getting caught up. She was exhausted from the trip, all the wedding festivities and jet lag. She slept almost all day yesterday (Tuesday), slept all night that night, slept until 9:30am this morning and took a 2.5 hour nap today as well.
I figured I would post the wedding photos first, then follow with all the other stuff we did. Here are some of my favorites. She made fast friends with the other girls and had a great time with them. They were so cute and Denny was so handsome! We had a great time and have come to the conclusion Emerson will be some sort of "groupie" when she gets older. She spotted the dance floor and only left it to bug the band as to when they would finish eating to start playing again. She spoke to all 5 of them all night long and was so excited to dance in her princess dress and shoes she could not eat her dinner. SO, we let her dance the night away. She almost left with the band. She watched as they packed their gear up. She sat on their equipment and watched the process, all the while saying things like," When I was a baby I was in my mommy's belly" and " Hey, I bumped my head yesterday." RANDOM!

More to come soon.
