Happenings Around 4th Grade

Well, lots going on in the last semester of 4th Grade. 3rd Q Report Card and conferences went well.
Dean's List with all A's is pretty impressive and we are very proud of her.  Her parent/teacher conference, which included the student this time, was emotional for me.  Next year is Middle School and she is just growing up so fast.  She led the conference and we were so impressed with her current and future goals and all her hard work this year.  For us, its not about the grades, but about how hard she tries and how much work she puts into school.  We are hoping all of this transfers over in to Middle School.  Guess we will see...

Honor Choir preformed their Spring Concert

Emerson also completed her first Science Project this year.  She showed how long it takes for a white flower to turn the color of the water it is in.

More 4th grade projects in the works.  President's Alive and State Projects yet to come.

Happy Easter 2016

We had a great Easter.  Easter Break proved to be very busy for us!  We had lots of friends over, went to a movie, went to the Zoo and even had our front yard completely re-landscaped.  All fun stuff!  And as usual, I never get enough pictures, especially during Holidays.

We didn't even get a picture of us with Emerson.  We managed to get these at Houmas House for lunch.  Weather was less than ideal, but we got thru it and managed to stay relatively dry.

So Ann gave Emerson a chrysalis for Easter.  We had to keep it in a cool, dry place until it comes out of its cocoon and stretched its wings.  Once it did, we had to take it outside, open the box and give it time to adjust.  Within a few hours It flew away.  Emerson affectionately named it Felicia, so that when it flew away she could wave, "Bye Felicia".  lol

Bye Felicia!  See you around the yard!

Duncan Dog

Poor Duncan Dog. He is having a rough couple of months.  He had a melanoma removed from his lower eye lid in February.  He did great and is fine. but had to wear a collar for 7 days.  He was like a bull in a china cabinet.

Once his eye was all healed, he came down with a pretty bad ear infection.  It has taken over 2 weeks to get it cleared up.  He is finally back to his old self and getting to run, play and get dirty again.

Theatre Baton Rouge

Emerson and Lila are total Theatre Geeks. They have spent a few years doing all the Manship Theatre shows and events, but sadly they are kind of growing out of most of those.  Now, they are taking a 6 week theatre and voice class on Saturday mornings that Theatre Baton Rouge offered.  I think they are having a good time and learning a little in the meantime.  Into The Woods played a few weeks ago and the girls went.  Their buddy, Mallory, came along.

Courtney, Lila's mom, usually pics Emerson up on Saturday mornings for class.  They always run by Brew Ha Ha for some breakfast on the way to class.  They always like to see what Gabby has going on in "The Brew" every Saturday.  They always leave with, at least, one cake ball...or three.

This is Lily.  She is Em and Lila's buddy from school and is also Gabby from Brew Ha Ha's youngest daughter.  Lily is so little and petite, an opportunity to pick her up is never missed.

Happy Earth Day

Happy Earth Day Everyone!
