Emerson's new big girl bed

It is all a work in progress, but Emerson got a new bed. She loves that she can stretch out and still not touch the end (Yes, we are terrible parents for keeping her in the toddler bed when she is as tall as she is). She is getting used to her new bed and we hope to get the rest of her room in order this weekend.

We have been receiving Vanity Fair magazine free for 6 months and got a new one in the mail yesterday. Emerson then ends up with her camera and I will let you decide what her motivation was. This was what was on her camera.

Homework

Emerson had a very busy social schedule this weekend. Friday night was her first Cirque de Soleil show. I think she is just as much a fan as Denny and me. She watched every second and was applauding the acts before they had even ended. Saturday she had lunch and hair cut with Kaka. Saturday night she had a sleepover at Isabelle's. After all of that and despite being exhausted, she did her homework.
She had to cut out her snowman OR snow girl and then we had to give her stuff to decorate it. Here is her final project. Looks a little like Aunt Jemima don't you think?

Noon Years Eve at Audubon Zoo

Just getting around to posting New Years...sorry. The Audubon Zoo was having a NoonYears Eve party so we went. Yucky day, but the rain cleared up and Emerson had a good time hanging out. They had dancers and cheerleaders from local schools that preformed. Of course she got into that!

I can not honestly say I have ever seen a Pelican this close up and we could not get over how big they are. Much larger than I would have ever expected.

She got a kick out of Santa and his alligators pulling a pirogue in the Cajun Swamp section of the Zoo.

And she never misses an opportunity to pet a snake.
