The new Orangutan Exhibit opened at The Audubon Zoo a few weeks ago. Its pretty wonderful and Minarie, the young Orangutan born at the zoo, was having a ball still getting used to her new surrounding. We spent over an hour watching her play. She was drawing a huge crowd, including some of her keepers. They reminded us she was 6 years old. We remember when they allowed the public to see her for the first time. We brought Emerson, she was 3. The large male Orangutan was not visible and we were told that he is not liking the new enclosure and is acting out towards Minarie and the female. So they were allowing him to hang out by himself in the old enclosure.

Thanksgiving 2015
The day before Thanksgiving, Em spent the day with Mom making cornbread dressing. And Emerson wrote the recipe down so she would have it forever.
Happy Thanksgiving! So much to be thankful for!
I can't ever remember to take pictures at any of the other stops. I have to get better at that!
LSU vs Ole Miss
Well, I don't have to tell you how this turned out and believe me, I was just as miserable being there!! Scott and Amanda own a home in Oxford, within walking distance to the Stadium. We had planned this weekend for months and Emerson was beside herself to spend the weekend in Oxford with her "cousins". I had spent a crazy hectic week running the Book Fair at school, so this weekend was going to be a much needed break for all of us. As soon as I got Book Fair torn down, we checked Em out of school a little early and hit to the road for Jackson. Made it there in great time and hung out there until 6ish. Around Grenada, MS I realized I had left our hanging clothes in BR. Yes, that's right, my coat, Denny's pants and his button down shirt we were going to wear to the game. Emerson had all her clothes thank goodness. We pieced stuff together for game day, but wanted to be a little more Purple and Gold. We packed for 50 degree weather but it never made it there. IT WAS SO COLD! And remember... I forgot my coat. Oh and it rained. Weather conditions aside, we tailgated in The Grove and Emerson and the girls had a ball running around. Someone got to run around with 2 older girls who had cell phones. She thought she was pretty hot stuff!
I will admit that at one point we were buying Ole Miss items to keep warm. At least we were numb and couldn't feel the tremendous, embarrassing loss! What a fun time considering. Emerson will never forget this weekend with Bella and Avery in Oxford!
Louisiana Book Festival
We wont let 100% chance of rain stop us from the Louisiana Book Festival. Emerson has grown up going and she still loves to go.

Halloween 2015
As long as I get around to posting things that's all that matters right...
So Em was a Gumball Machine. She picked it out, I made it and she loved it! We had a few parties to go to, so Denny and I went totally 80's. We consider ourselves pros since we lived it and all! Too bad we didn't keep any of our clothes. Why did I get rid of all the prom dresses?? They are considered Vintage now! Totally serious. We trick or treated with friends and had a great time.

Emerson and Kaka's Spooky Gingerbread House
One more Halloween down and I still got to make her costume. I am afraid this may be the last year... May not be as cool in the years to come.
