Fall Break, Rosemary Beach 2015

The 3 of us spent Fall Break in Rosemary.  It's our happy place!!  The weather was perfect, the beach was perfect and the water was beautiful.  We relaxed and did a lot of nothing.  Emerson made friends with a family from TN. And of course Sandcastles are always a must.

This is Soleil, another TN kid.  Em only spent a day with her.
This little cutie is Mary McClain.  She is the youngest of 4 kids from TN and she and Emerson immediately hit it off.  She is 4, but has the vocabulary of a 14 year old. She is seriously the cutest.

Our last day was beyond beautiful.  The ocean was perfectly flat.  The TN people left and had rented a YOLO, so they let us use it the remainder of the day.  Only because the sea was flat, did Emerson really get into it. She spent hours on it.  I'm sure we will be renting YOLO boards from here on out.
We had another great trip to Rosemary. We ate at new places and stayed on the beach until dark. We are always so sad to go. Until next time 30A.

LSU vs Florida

We have been so busy, this was the first game we have made it to.  What a great one to be at!!!

That Camille is all silly all the time!!

Great day, great sunset and an even better game.   GEAUX TIGERS!!!

Happenings in 4th Grade

We have the first 4th Grade project under our belt.  It was a Landforms Project that required Emerson to create a Continent and build the landforms out of clay. She had to create a basin, coastal plain, piedmont, gulf, peninsula, mountain range, valley, plateau and a canyon. She went all out pig for hers.  She named it Piglandia and had landforms like, Pork Plateau, Gulf of Swine, Crackling Canyon, Bacon Basin... You get the drift.  She did a great job!

Emerson's Class has already done their Chapel Skit. It was Jungle Themed about the Ten Commandments.  Emerson and her long time buddy Jac had the speaking roles.  No shocker there!
I think this one was my favorite of all the Chapel Skits they have done to date.

Emerson had a great First Quarter. She got all A's and a B in Math. Super Job!

Hot Day in the City

This was a draft I started on WEEKS ago, but never got around to posting it...

My first Saturday off is traditionally spent in New Orleans doing stuff as a family.  And we could not have picked a hotter day to hang out in NOLA.  Very few people were on the streets and everyone was inside trying to stay cool.  We took Em to the Insectarium and Aquarium.  Packed!

She barely fits in this car now.

These were the only pictures we took at the Aquarium.  There were just too many people in there to get a good pic.

I guess one shouldn't have a blog if they cant keep it up to date.  I will work on it!  Sorry...

When the Mom's away

I have been in and out of town the last few weeks.  Denny and Emerson take every opportunity they have to go do their own thing.  They spent a Saturday exploring Avery Island.  They also went thru the Tabasco Factory and brought me lots of great new Tabasco products.

That next day, they went to the USS Kidd. Once a month they offer free tours on the Kidd.  Who knew!  This was Emerson's visit.
They had a great weekend, as they always do.
