Disneyland- Anaheim, California

Disney and California Adventures are right next door to each other.  Their entrances face each other and both are all within walking distance of  Downtown Disney.  We stayed on property which was so convenient.  No monorail system to worry with.  All just a small walk to either park.  The day we flew in we walked around Downtown Disney and ate an early dinner to rest up for our first day.

 

 Huge Lego store which had unreal Lego sculptures.

 

 Each morning we would eat breakfast at The Storytellers Restaurant.  Characters would walk around and interact with the kids.  Do you know how to tell the difference between Chip and Dale?

 I just had to keep this picture of these random people.  I think this should be their Christmas Card!

 We were very surprised how crowded Disney was.  We thought by going to California we would miss the crowds.  I think its always crowded here.

You ALWAYS have to ride Dumbo.

 They rode Star Wars for me.  It was ok.  Expected more.
We ended the night with the Electric Light parade.

 And the morning we were heading to San Diego we got to see a few more friends at breakfast.

California- Mardi Gras Break

We spent our week off in California.  We had a great trip and enjoyed some sunny mild weather for a change.  We went spent our first few days in Anaheim and went to Disneyland and California Adventures.  Then we drove down the California Coast and spent some time visiting seaside towns until we got to San Diego.  Here we went to The San Diego Zoo and Sea World.  We saw so much and I have so many pictures which will take several posts to get them all in. Here we go.
California Adventure-
It was so awesome and Cars Land was amazing.  Everything in Cars Land, down to the smallest details, looks like you are watching the movie. 

Radiator Springs was our favorite ride.  The rock was so well done you honestly thought you were in the desert.

 Denny and I rode the Hollywood Tower of Terror ride.  I was fun also, but not anything Em or Kaka would have enjoyed at all!  We took pictures of the pictures they took of us on the ride.  Denny cracks me up...

 Em still enjoys seeing the characters.  This is Sophia the First.

We enjoyed California Adventures more than Disney.  Don't get me wrong, Disney was wonderful, but maybe it was we knew what to expect at Disney and CA was new.  It was a fun, full day and we closed the place down with the Wonders of Color light show.

Theatre Buddies

Em and her buddy, Lila Grace, went to The Baton Rouge Little Theatre production of The Princess and the Pea. I think we will see these two on stage one day.

Dog Parade

Computer issues resolved, so bare with me as I get caught up with posts...

 

We have been taking Emerson to the Downtown Krewe of Mutts Parade since she was a baby. We still love it and I think most of Baton Rouge was there to enjoy a sunny afternoon.





 



One of our favorites...



This goat was not part of the parade, but stole the show for sure. This is someone's pet and ran it's owner ragged.  On a leash of course, but wanted to run non-stop. So stinkin' cute.

We met up with our friend Ben, who was not interested in taking a picture with Em.
