Rosemary Beach 2013

We had a great beach trip as always.  We were lucky to get to spend half the trip with the Overby's.  We always try and time it to where our trips overlap at some point. We slacked on the sandcastles this year.  She spent more time in the water and digging holes.
Emerson learned to snorkel on this trip and spent every second she had in the ocean or swimming pool seeing what she could find.  She snorkeled so much, the skin between her bottom gums and lip were raw after the 2nd day.

Counting down the days until we go again.  We all three have the Rosemary Beach blues...

Happenings this summer

Besides The Beach, Vacation Bible School, Sports Camp, Days with Mandi, Mudpies Art Camp, a week with Isabella and Cheer Camp, Emerson has been bored.

Isabella spends a week

Happy Summer!  Can't believe it is almost over.  School starts in just 4 weeks.  Our summer has busy with work and taxing you know who around can get hectic at times. Emerson's summer has been fun and jam packed with camps and fun stuff.  We got to have Isabella here for a week and Em loved that.  Bella attended a week long intensive ballet camp here in Baton Rouge at Dancers Workshop. It was nice to have an older child around, but then we had to detox the non-twelve year old after Bella was gone.
Emerson and Bella share a birthday so we got to have her here right before which was a treat for us. We took Bella to eat Alligator, so I am sure she will be talking about that for awhile. "No big deal.  Just tastes like chicken".

Being as though The Overby's are from Mississippi and Scott went to Ole Miss, Denny and I never miss an opportunity to take the girls around campus and take as many pics as we can of them in Tiger Country!!
We had a pretty special week and it is always sad for the girls to say good-bye.

Moving Up Ceremony

Reality check...She's in Second Grade now.  Crazy how it flies by.  We had such a good school year.  Lots of change and transition in First Grade but we handled it and she did awesome! The Moving Up Ceremony is a graduation of sorts.  Its for the 1st - 4th Graders.  Emerson was given the "Being Responsible" Certificate.  Very proud of that!

Looking forward to all the challenges and achievements that Second Grade will bring.

1st Grade Young Author's Night

What a cute 1st Grade event at Dunham.  The kids write and illustrate their own book and get to preview the book during Young Author's Night.  Emerson's book was entitled "The Life of Duncan" and was about our family and how happy we are to have Duncan in it and how we got him.  Super cute.

 Emerson and Ms. Elizabeth

Emerson and her friend Camille.  Camille and her family came to watch Young Author's Night because Julian dedicated his book to Hayes, Camille's brother.

Emerson and her buddy Bailee.  Bailee's book was about her and Emerson and was titled, "Girls Just Want to Have Fun".

Em and her Girls

Amanda and the girls came in town a few weekends ago.  Their first trip to the new house and our first house guests here.  Of course Em, Bella and Avery had the usual fun together.  They spent some time in the parks before they had to head back to Jackson.

"What, this is a dance floor...our chairs can't go here?"

A quick trip, but the girls had fun anyway and we knew we would be seeing them in a month at the beach.  At least Em had something to look forward to.

iPad fun

Happy Summer! Lots of Posts to catch up on, hoping to get back to that when I can...
Em was playing on the iPad a few weeks ago, which she does often, and most of it gets deleted.  How fun are these!  I really think you can see how much she looks like Mom in these.
