First Grade Girls Back to School Party

The Girls Back to School Party was a few weeks ago at The Enchanted Doll Mansion.  Kind of freaky, but the girls had a good time sipping tea and running around a Doll Museum like wild animals.

Emerson and Alyse had a great time catching up and as it turns out they are in the same class together this year.  Ms. Elizabeth has no idea what she is in for with these two.

FAITH

I have struggled for weeks trying to find the words for this and I still don't know how to say it.  I will keep it to this...
please pray for Lance, Amy, Wyatt and Reid Kiger as they begin the fight of their life for Reid, who has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and has begun treatment at St. Jude.
Pray for Lance and Amy's strength and conviction as they fight for Reid now, just as they fought to have him.  Pray that Reid is healed and that he lives the long, happy, healthy life God has planned for him. Pray that Wyatt finds an outlet to express his fear, anger and concerns for his brother and family.  And pray that Wyatt has some peace and acceptance during this school year being away from his parents.

Duncan

I have not done a great job of taking pictures of Duncan lately.  With all that has gone on over the summer, I did manage to get a few.  He is a much bigger dog than Baker was, so it is hard to remember he is only 1.  He lives to fetch and we really enjoy that about him.  He is getting better as he is aging, so there is a little light at the end of the tunnel for this dog.  Don't get me wrong, he will still try and eat every single one of Denny's socks, steal all of Emerson's stuffed animals and take every kitchen towel he can reach off the counter, but not as often as before.

First Day of First Grade

Well, this is it...The Big time.  First Grade.  Considering I sobbed as we walked into her classroom for her teacher visit last week, I guess it was OK that I held it together today.  In the car on the way there she said how excited she was to go back to school, but that she was a little nervous.  Only half a day today, so we will see how it goes.  Knowing her, it was more about being dramatic than actually feeling nervous.

Duncan's First Birthday

Duncan celebrated his First Birthday in June.  He was owning the hat at first, but got a little embarrassed.  He sleeps out on a big bed now.  No more kennel.  We are all still getting used to him being able to roam around when he wants.  He is extremely mischievous and requires constant supervision. Getting better with age though.

Emerson gave him his gifts in a black cat bag.  She thought that was funny.
Took him about 10-15 minutes to tear them all to shreds.  Oh well, it was his birthday and they were his gifts after all.

6th Birthday

6 years old...WOW.  These are the few pictures we took.  I will have the ones from her party up in a week or so...or when I have time.  Ok, let's be realistic.  It may be more like August after school starts.  This is the birthday girl when she woke up.  The hair never disappoints.  It seems the birthday fairy left balloons all over her room during the night.  She is still talking about that!

She had the option to have Mandi come stay with her at home or to come to work with me on her birthday.  She chose to stay with me.  Kaka cut her flowers from her yard and had her presents waiting when we got to work.
She asked for a Slinky and a Scooter and she got them both. She is the most excited about the Slinky.  AND The Fresh Beat Band tickets we gave her.  They are coming here in October.

As is the tradition, we get her a cookie cake on the day of her birthday.  She gets to have whatever she wants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And the tradition continues, donuts and chocolate milk for breakfast, junk for lunch and pizza for dinner.
The Birthday Party...Coming Soon.

Always in cheerleader mode

She's got pretty big dreams of being an LSU cheerleader. Just sayin...
