Summer's over?

Hopefully 4th Grade goes by as fast as this summer has!  I thank God every single day for Mandi.  She has kept Em every summer for 4 years but I am most grateful now as she gets older.  She has MADE this summer for Emerson.  Besides the Great Wolf/ Daddy Daughter trip, VBS, Ceramics Camp and the 4th Grade Boot camp she went to a few weeks ago, Emerson has spent her days with Mandi.  They swam, spent a lot of time at the library, did summer math work sheets, read summer reading books, saw movies (old and new), bowled, made music videos, cooked, went to the mall, ran errands for me, put puzzles together, played games, made movie trailers in iMovie, sang, danced and had an all around good time every single day.

 

School starts on August 6.  One week away and I think we are almost ready. We got our Back to School hair cut, new tennis shoes and Em got a new backpack for her bday. Class lists came out today and Em seems happy with her Homeroom Teacher and her class mates.  She has Lila and Jac in her class and she says this was all she wanted.  Lila her bestie and Jac her first and oldest friend are together again this year.

Jac and Emerson started in the baby room at Jefferson Baptist Mother's Day out and have been together ever since.  Pretty special friends right there!

Fifth Harmony

Emerson and 2 friends went to the Fifth Harmony concert Saturday night.  This was the only concert Emerson wanted to go to this summer.  In my opinion, it was one of the best!  The girls, Emerson, Lila and Camille, had a ball and danced the whole time.  The got the opportunity to "Meet and Greet" with the Fifth Harmony girls earlier in the day and there was a very strict no cell phone policy, so I have no pics.  They took professional pictures, so we hope to get those in the next couple of weeks.

They had a super fun night and the concert was pretty awesome!  Denny and I enjoyed it more than we thought we would have. Will be interesting to follow their careers...

Duncan

Duncan celebrated his 4th Birthday in June.  This was his favorite toy, a Hedgehog, similar to one Emerson gave him when we first got him.

 



 

9th Birthday

Emerson had a great birthday!  Her actual birthday was celebrated at home with pizza and cookie cake.  This is the tradition and she is not interested in changing it.

 

 

We gave her a new bike.  An adult size bike at that!

These girls are SO silly and God Bless Mrs. Maria for wrangling them in and trying to keep them focused over a 3 hour period. Their paintings were so cool and it was pretty interesting to see how each one differed from the other.  Another year down.  Make it stop...

Denny and Emerson spent the day at False River with friends while I was working.  They made it home in time for our annual fireworks show at CCL.
