Emerson and Jackson- "Best Night Ever"
One evening, we took Emerson and Jackson to eat pizza, see Mike the Tiger and feed the ducks at the lakes. These two love to be together. At the restaurant, the waitress thought they were siblings and they just couldn't stop giggling about that. Next, we went and fed the ducks. Then on to Mike. It had rained and cooled things off a bit, so we were hopeful he would be out and active.
Boy was he out and active. He was walking all over and knew it was almost meal time.
One of his trainers/handlers was out around the cage and Mike knew he was there and would follow him everywhere he went. Mike would rub up against the cage like a house cat, so the man could pet him. We stayed until they put him inside to eat and go to bed.
On the way home, Jackson said, "Hey Emerson, best night ever". How sweet is that!!

8th Birthday- THE CONCERT
8th Birthday- Part 1
We did things a little different this year. Austin Mahone was one of the concerts at the park this summer, so we let Emerson invite a few friends to the concert as her birthday party. The concert wasn't until the weekend following her actual birthday. So, on her birthday, while I was working, Denny took her for donuts. They also went to the Farmer's Market and per Em's request, Jambalaya Park Spray Ground. That evening we celebrated with pizza and cookie cake.
Bed hog
Duncan often gets in the bed with Emerson at night. However, there is not enough room for both of them because Duncan stretches out and wants all of bed.
Emerson and Lila Grace
Emerson and Lila spent some time together this summer doing various things. Movie nights and a Science Camp just to name a few.
Summer fun with Mandi
Em and Mandi dressed up like cows for Chic-fil-a day.
One of the many camps Emerson did this summer was an Art Camp. Here is one of the pieces she did and a pic of her class.
Daddy/Daughter Saturday morning
Not that most weekends aren't daddy/daughter days in the summer while I am at work, but this one was extra special. Denny was on a waiting list, for over a month, to take Emerson horseback riding. Finally the day came and Emerson had a wonderful time. It was just Em, Denny and a few instructors. They got to ride for about an hour.
Emerson's horse was named Douglas. She thought that was pretty funny and not a typical horse name. It was a great dad/daughter Saturday morning. And I am pretty sure donuts were involved!
