Class Mascot

Buddy, the class dog, spent last weekend with us and as part of our responsibilities we have to document our weekend with him. So, much like Flat Stanley, we took him everywhere. To the bookstore for Dr. Seuss Story time and to the Mall to ride the carousel. Buddy is also very good at puzzles and enjoyed sleeping in Emerson's bed.

Waiting for Fall

Some of us can not wait for all things fall. She talks about Trick or Treat and her costume every single day. She can't wait for the Fall school events coming up like the Fall Carnival, Moon Pie Party where everyone wears their PJ's and eats Moon pies and Santa is at the top of the list also. Little does she know Denny and I have a few surprises in the works...one big one might involve a castle, princesses and a pretty famous Mouse

Emerson: Mom. Why did you and Dad name me Emerson?

Me: Well, we really liked the name. We thought it was unique just like you would be. Why do you ask?

Emerson: Well, I am just trying to decide what I want to name my children.

Unexpected surprise

Emerson has a girlfriend, Wesley, that could not make it to her birthday party. Wesley's Mom contacted me to say she was getting tired of stepping over Em's gift and was going to put it in the mail. It came last week and much to Emerson's surprise, it was Fresh Beat Band stuff. Emerson and Wesley share a love of everything Fresh Beat. She got a Fresh Beat bracelet, t-shirt that includes her name and Fresh Beat stickers and buttons. It made her day!

A subtle hint

Emerson: Mom, are marshmallows a healthy snack?

Me: No, I consider it junk. Why do you ask?

Emerson: Never mind. I think I know the answer.

Loves her some Mike

Anytime we are even remotely close to LSU, Emerson wants to go see if Mike is out AND take a picture in front of the Tiger statue. So, Sunday we did just that.

Audubon Zoo with Lola and Eli

We spent a beautiful Sunday at the Audubon Zoo with The Avery's. The girls had fun looking at the animals and just being together.
