Em and I hung out at Hannan & Co. for awhile one day last week. She loves to use the adding machine and I owe Aunt Mel a case of it. The C.C's cup is Emerson's. She has learned they do smoothies for kids, so we can't get out of there now for less than $10.00. So, here she is talking on the phone, adding something up and sipping on a smoothie from C.C's. Typical right?

She taking pictures again
I am trying to foster this creative streak in her as much as possible. I do have to draw the line at the bathroom door because SHE WILL DO IT!
She took all of these. I am telling you...she has an eye for this!

This one makes me chuckle. The toes!
We are hoping things will slow down for us once school starts OR not.
Emerson has just finished 3 years at Jefferson Baptist Mother's Day Out and I really had to bite my lip on the last day in order to hold it together. What a wonderful place that is. She has learned so much and made many friends. I will always remember her time there.
Emerson is at a Dive Into Dunham camp everyday this week from 9-12 and begs to go back. She is having l0ts of fun and is playing and learning with new kids that will be in Pre-K4 with her and possibly in her class. This camp is taught by one of Dunham's Pre-K4 teachers and is structured similar to what they will experience when school begins for them. If this is any indication, Emerson is going to have a blast.

4th birthday party
It has always been a big thing for me to have a photographer at Emerson's parties. It is because I could never get all the shots we would want and talk to guests and cut and serve the cake and so on and so on. Last year I forgot to book a photographer and barely got any real good shots at the party.
This year we used Heather Bush from Bush Photography and I am so happy with her work. She took 200 pictures and I could not be more pleased. These pictures are so special and Emerson will have these memories to look back on. There are so many favorites, so I just picked out a few.

Thank You Heather! I LOVE THEM!

July 4th cookout
SO, we are back from Jackson, picked up Denny, went to family reunion, came home to change clothes and let Emerson take a nap and ended up at Isabelle's house about 5:30pm. This is the only picture I got around to taking... The girls had a great time playing. Alex fixed a great meal and baby Gwendolyn slept thru it all. I did not even manage to get any pictures of her...
We left the McDermott's at about 8:30pm and headed to CCL where we watched an awesome fireworks show. The club does it every year and we will not miss it again. The next day would be Em's 4th b-day. We had to go home and order a cookie cake- which I had not done yet.
Family Reunion
Emerson and I came home from Jackson, picked up Denny and headed out to spend a few hours at the Family reunion. The 3 of us played on the slides and rode a few rides we had never ridden together before. It was a fun couple of hours. Emerson and Uncle Little Jessie.
From here we went to the McDermott's for a July 4th Cookout.

Bella and Avery's Bowling party
Trying to get the blog caught up with our crazy busy life...
July 4th weekend, Emerson and I drove into Jackson, MS for a few days to hang out with the girls, Auntie A and Uncle Scott. We also went in to attend Bella and Avery's joint birthday bowling extravaganza. All I have to say is thank goodness the place had beer! Emerson had a ball bowling and it was her first time. It would take about 20 minutes for her ball to actually make it down the lane. Luckily the older kids (Bella's group) was on the opposite end of alley from Avery's group. The older kids would not have had the patience for little miss Emerson. Bella wanted a cookie cake and Avery wanted a pink guitar cake and Emerson well, she wanted a piece of both.
Em and I headed out of Jackson early Sunday, July 4 so we could get home to spend a few hours at Blue Bayou/Dixie for the Haynes Family reunion.

On Saturday we ran around, had lunch and then let the girls play with Avery's Easybake oven. Em was not too into it. I KNOW! HOW IS SHE MINE RIGHT! So, the girls and I played.

The Birthday Party
Emerson's birthday party was Thursday evening. We had a great time and Emerson really enjoyed herself with all her friends and family. These are the only pictures I took. I am so proud of this cake and Emerson showed everyone what her mom had made her. When I get the pictures back from the photographer I will post the ones she took from the party. I have so many things to post and have not had the time. Hopefully I will get caught up this week.

Happy 4th Birthday!
I can not even believe this little girl is 4 years old. We have had a crazy, nonstop weekend and need to begin preparing for her party Thursday, so we spent today low-key. We let Emerson call the shots today. She got to choose breakfast, lunch and dinner and we got her a cookie cake because mom is just a little consumed with party preparations and school party to make anything. For breakfast she had donuts- chocolate with sprinkles of course, lunch was chick-fil-a at the mall and a carousel ride and dinner was pizza.
