Happy Valentime's Day
Snow Day
She was not at all happy that schools were closed and neither was I. Snow. What snow she kept saying. Finally it snowed enough that she could go out and take a picture or two. We did not get much at all and there was no accumulation, but she enjoyed it while it lasted.
No school Tuesday due to Mardi Gras. Calgon take me away!
Side Note: It has been determined that the cough medicine had little to do with her mood, temperament and behaviour over this past week. That is just her it seems. I apologize to the makers of Delsym for the ugly comments I may have made on their website or any mommy blogs that had anything to do with side effects of over the counter meds for kids.
Can you start puberty at 3?
Valentine's party at school
All in the name of LOVE
This has been one crazy week. We started off at the Doctors office the Monday morning after the Super Bowl. Sinus infection, fever and bronchitis. Nice. It just never ends with the little people. My thoughts go immediately to all the people we have spent the last 2 days with at Eli's christening, lunch after, Super Bowl party that evening and just how thrilled they are going to be with us when their kids come down sick to. That quickly fades as I am exhausted from little sleep the night before taking care of a sick pitiful little girl. Antibiotic and cough meds should do the trick. So, Em and I spent most of the week in the house. We never left...not once...for anything...at all. I tried to keep her down so she wouldn't cough so much and that involved lots of projects, games, puzzles and all of my time and attention...and patience. The cough meds made her crazy. Crying screaming one minute and screaming at you mad the next. Sounding much like a little woman the guys are thinking right now, but it was very trying for me. The weather was either bitter cold or raining so outside was not an option. She missed school of course on Tuesday. My goal was to get her well enough to be around people again and attend her Valentine's Day party on Thursday at school. Let's be truthful here- I just needed to leave the house!
She is feeling better but we still have the cough. No more cough meds however.
Here she is Wednesday helping make her class heart cookies. Or more like licking every last sprinkle out of the bowl.
We did make it to the party at school. Rain, sleet or snow was not going to keep me from leaving the house! We made it out long enough to make the party and grocery shop for snow day that was coming.

After she took care of the sprinkles, she got started on her Strawberry Shortcake Valentine's cards.

Christening of Baby Eli
Lola's baby brother Eli was Christened last Sunday at a fabulous old church in Opelousas. It is the church where Christian was baptized and has lots of special meaning to their family. The girls, Lola and Emerson, were great thru mass and were a challenge to keep contained after mass for the actual Christening. They are a handful together and have so much fun- in a run liker mad, banshee sort of way. I think Eli might have a hard time keeping those 2 in line when he starts running after them!
How gorgeous is he????

Yard Day
This was last weekend when the sun actually came out long enough for Denny to do some much needed mulching in the back yard. He needed help of course! Check her out. Pay close attention to the details- the headband, the hair, the hood, the gardening gloves and of course the beloved boots. She was especially proud of the gloves as you can see and she was very excited to get down in the dirt with her gloves. Bets on how long that lasted...
10 minutes.
