Emerson: "Momma LOOK IT'S A GOOOOOOSSSSSEEEEEE. That GOOSE is comin ova here to see us"
Me: "How Fun Emerson. He is so pretty"
Emerson: "He is very curious Mom"
Me: "He is Emerson. He wants to see what kind of stuff we are feeding these ducks. Look Em, his mouth is open"
Emerson: "Mom I don't want him to bite me. He is running ova here. HE IS CURIOUS MOM.

Emerson: "Come ova here Big Guy."

Me: "You named him Big Guy?"

Emerson: "NO, I just call him dat. His name is Curious George."

Me: "Oh, sorry for my confusion"

Emerson: "It's awright Momma. You didn't know"

Baby Reid

We took Emerson to meet Reid today. She said "OH, he is bewtiful." Then she was off and not at all concerned about him. He is so sweet...

Easter Fun

Emerson and Kaki had some fun this week with a small project. They made a Gingerbread Easter Bunny House. Emerson think it's the greatest thing ever and she proudly displays it at home and shows anyone who comes thru the door. She is very concerned about the fate of the house- which she TOTALLY understands you can eat it. She keeps asking me if the Easter bunny is going to eat it all like Santa did his cookies. My response is- "OF COURSE HE IS! That is why you made it. It is for the Easter Bunny." Sorry, but you really do not think I am going to let her eat that thing do you?

Our practical princess

I think I have mentioned before that one of the first things Emerson does when he gets up in the morning is put on a princess dress. Monday morning she put on the dress and her rubber boots! I guess she was concerned about getting her feet wet OR just thought they looked good together.

After school today, I took Emerson to see Melanie. We hung out with her awhile then headed home. She was asleep before we got out of the parking lot. Don't think she was going to let her bag that Aunt Mel gave her go!

Reid Patrick Kiger

Our friends Lance and Amy Kiger welcomed Baby Reid Monday, March 23. He weighed 8.2 and was 20 inches long. Big Brother Wyatt is excited to teach Baby Reid how to ride a 4 wheeler when the baby gets big enough.

We are so excited to finally have him here. Emerson is going to love him lots!

Fun weekend

Lola spent a few hours with us on Saturday. The girls had a great time reading books and playing. I was worn out after having to keep up with 2 kids- even for just a few hours! We went to Global Wildlife Sunday morning with my friend Shauna and her son Brantley and daughter Eli. The kids have not spent much time together, but were fast friends and had a wonderful time feeding the animals. We were all kind of bummed that the camels, lamas and giraffes wanted nothing to do with us and would not get close to the wagon. Oh well, that just gives us another reason to go back soon.

We went into Covington and ate a great lunch afterward. It was fun hanging out with Shauna, Eli and Brantley. Emerson has not stopped talking about them.

After lunch Denny, Emerson and I went to Kaci and Ryan's in Folsom and hung out with them for awhile. It is so nice there and Emerson had a good time checking out their property, the cows, chicken, baby chicks, rams and most important of all, their dog Blue. Emerson crashed out of the way home. We went the back way home to let her get a good long rest.

She had a fun day today and when she said her prayers tonight she listed out the usual family members, but included her new friends Eli and Brantley, K.K., Ryan and Blue. So Sweet!

Audubon Zoo with the Overby girls

They had a blast at the Zoo yesterday. We spent most of the day there until all 3 of them melted down at the same time around 3:30pm. They were tired, hot and had had enough and frankly so had we.

The Zoo has a new Dinosaur section that we did not get to, but it sounds fun. We will have to go back soon and check that part out.

Nakedness

Not sure what is going on today, but Emerson just wants to be naked. I have forced her to wear panties! She is in such a great mood after a very busy and cranky few days! Isabella and Avery have been here for a few days. It is their Spring Break in Jackson, MS and Amanda brought them in to go to the Audubon Zoo. We spent the day yesterday and they had a fun day. I will post those pics in another entry. She loves Bella and Avery so much and they are so good to her. Since they left this morning, she has been telling me to put certain things in the car. When I ask her why she responds with "Because I am going to Bella and Avery's and I want to take that with me." Thanks "Auntie A" for asking her if she wanted to come home with you- SHE DOES! Lola and Em played dress up Tuesday night. Check out their shoes! I just want to squeeze Lola she is so darn cute.

It's Official

Emerson is sleeping in her big girl bed now. She climbed right on out again this morning and we are terrified she will break a limb. SO, big bed it is. I will post a picture once i get the bedding all squared away and make it look fit for a princess. The nap today went OK. It took her about an hour to stop playing and coming out of her room, but she did finally fall asleep. We will see how tonight goes. I think it will be a long week or so for her to figure out the routine.

It's All Over

We have waiting and preparing for this day knowing it would soon come.
She climbed out of her bed this afternoon.

Park and Picnic

Emerson and Jack had a picnic and played in the park today. They had a great time and the weather ended up perfect.

Some pics from the weekend

Sunday Denny, Emerson and I pick-nicked and played in the park for several hours. Denny and I commented on how big Emerson looks in these pictures. She looks like she is starting to fill out some. It was a beautiful day and we realized how quickly it will be become too hot to hang out outside unless you are in a swimming pool. We will enjoy the nice weather AND our little girl as much as we can for now. They both will change before we know it!

The Dentist

Emerson had her first dentist appointment today with Dr. Ellard. We liked him a lot. Emerson especially liked the balloon, toothbrush, toothpaste and stickers she got after our consultation was over.

After the dentist, we picked up lunch and went to Aunt Mel's for awhile. Emerson is busy doing some "work" here at Mel's desk. Of course she left here with a few prizes as well.
