Phone pictures

Thanks to Christian, I finally got all the pictures off of my cell phone. Here are a few that I had on there. Some will take you back a bit. I can hardly remember her this little...

And look at her now! Teeth, sunglasses, hair and all.

We are headed on vacation next week, so I probably will not post again until we get home. There should be plenty of good things to talk about then.

"Nakum Peaz"

In the car this morning-

Emerson: I need a nakum peaz mommy
Me: To wipe your nose?
Emerson: Yes
Me: Okay, but please do not rip the napkin up into little pieces. Hand it to mommy when you are done.
Emerson: Ok Mommy
Long pause
I turned to check on her and all was well with the napkin.
Me: Emerson are you finished wiping your nose?
Emerson: Nope
Me: Hand it to me when you are finished.
I Called Denny on the phone and had a 2 minute conversation. I hear her tearing the napkin apart. Look back and she has torn the whole thing up.
Me: EMERSON. Did you tear the napkin up?
Emerson: Yes
Me: Did mommy ask you not to do that?
Emerson: Yes
Me: You are in trouble. Why did you do that?
Emerson: I not know why I dood that.

What could I say to that?

Dressen Up

Emerson has always liked to play with purses and bags, but she has really taken this dress up stuff to another level. These days she dresses in this pirate hat she got at a birthday party, a pink boa and must finish the ensemble with the American Flag. She wears this get up around the house, outside and today she wore it to Lance and Amy's to watch the LSU game. I am all for accessories, but a pirate hat...FUNNY STUFF.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

I have a confession...

I did it. You know that one thing all parents tell new parents not to do with regards to eating. I broke. I caved under the pressure. I gave into the marketing ploys. I gave Emerson crack for the first time. Yes, crack...for kids. I still have not said the name of the fine dining establishment out loud- in hopes she won't remember where the crack came from. In hopes she will not see the arches and start asking for it. I ordered a H*P*Y M*E*A* (You know what that is super secret code for people). IN DEFENSE OF MYSELF, I ordered the "Healthy crack". Nuggets, apples and whole milk. And DO NOT EVEN think she found out that sweet crack stuff, conveniently disguised as caramel dip, that goes along with the apples. In the garbage. I know what you are thinking- what about the toy. WELL, she has no idea the toy had anything to do with the meal. I pulled the toy out of my purse- as a surprise of course. She was delighted and it made such an impression she has no idea where it is right now and could really care less. Whew! So, to recap. I gave Emerson the fast food equivalent of crack. She loved it and ate every nugget and every apple wedge. And I still have not and will not utter that word- McD*(*@%#$*&.
I was a low day for me, but we have to do what we have to do. Right?

Summer routine

We are getting settled into our summer routine which seems to be at a much faster pace than we are used to. Monday's Emerson is at MawMaw and PawPaw's so I can help my Mom at the waterpark. She loves to go there, but comes home a bear because she does not get a good nap- which she desperately requires. Tuesday and Thursday's are Mother's Day out, so we are gone all morning and get home in time for a 1:30 nap. We just seem to be gone alot.
Here are a few fun pics from the weekend.

Denny and Emerson are pretending to be sleeping. I wish you could have heard the two of them. They were both snoring...
"I wake now MaMa"

Here's a very rare pic of the 2 of us.

I have just really been having a hard time with the who, what, when and where's of Emerson's birthday party. I think we are close to finalizing plans. It will be here before we know it.

Happy 23 Months Old!

Emerson is 23 months old today. WOW how time flies.

She started the first summer session of Mother's Day out this week and we are both VERY excited for that. She likes seeing her friends again. We have also been spending time in the pool, backyard with a sprinkler and at Blue Bayou.
Here she is in the backyard with a cool sprinkler toy.

Check out that belly!

These next pictures are of her at Blue Bayou for the first time. We kept her in the Polliwog and Pirates area and it was perfect for her. She really enjoyed walking around and playing in the water.

She is talking so much these days. She actually told Denny to slow down in the car this week. I got a huge kick out of that!
